Jake Baldwin is one of the busiest freelance trumpet players in the Twin Cities. He attended the New England Conservatory Of Music from 2009-2013. During this time Jake placed 3rd in the 2010 International Trumpet Guild's Jazz Trumpet Competition and placed 2nd in the 2013 National Trumpet Competition's Jazz division. Jake was a finalist in the 2019 Carmine Caruso International Jazz Trumpet Competition. Since moving to Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2013, Jake has constantly been one of the top call trumpet players in a multitude of genres. He can be found performing with groups from every genre from the Minnesota Orchestra to his own Quartet. He has released two records on the Shifting Paradigm label under his own name. 2021’s “Where You’re Planted” and 2023’s “Misc. Items”, which received a 4 star review in Downbeat Magazine.

He has been touring nationally and internationally with the legendary Four Freshmen. Jake has recorded for a multitude of artists including: Cory Wong, Nathy Peluso, the television show Archer, the video game Assassin’s Creed, and the television show Jupiter’s Legacy, among other projects.
